University of South Carolina’s Dr. Iarossi Elected to SC Launch Inc. Board of Directors

Summerville, S.C. – Dr. Juliana Iarossi, Clinical Assistant Professor with the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, was recently elected to the SC Launch, Inc. Board of Directors. SC Launch, Inc. is the investment affiliate of the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA), and its board of directors approves loans and investments made to companies in the SC Launch program. “We are very fortunate to have Dr. Iarossi join the SC Launch, Inc. Board and are looking forward to her active engagement in our tech startup investment work,” said Peter Dunphy, SC Launch, Inc. Board Chair.

Most recently, the board approved an additional $1.5 million in funding to support businesses that are providing coronavirus-related solutions and to help current portfolio companies continue to meet their financial goals during the pandemic.

Dr. Iarossi began her career as an engineer with a technology startup and spent over 20 years in financial services with some of the largest commercial and investment banks, holding leadership positions in lending, loan workouts, compliance, and investment management. She currently teaches entrepreneurship, corporate strategy, and finance-focused courses to undergraduates and master’s students at the Moore School and the Swearingen College of Computing and Engineering.

Dr. Iarossi earned a B.S. in Materials Engineering from Virginia Tech, an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington, and an Executive Doctorate in Business Administration from Georgia State University.
