Summerville, S.C. – Terressentia Corporation was recognized as the SC Launch Company of the Year for 2017. The award was presented during the First Annual SC Launch Summit hosted by SCRA in Columbia, SC, which gathered entrepreneurs, industry representatives and those involved in the innovation ecosystem of South Carolina.

Terressentia is responsible for revolutionizing elements of the distilled beverage industry and bringing growth to a market that continues to seek innovative solutions. By using a patented process to filter and purify premium spirits, the company has proven that their technology can improve quality and taste in shorter time. Under the leadership of CEO Earl Hewlette, the company has become recognized throughout the world for their disruptive technology and their ability to technologically challenge the distilled spirits industry. The company has two distilleries – in North Charleston, SC and the O.Z. Tyler Distillery in Owensboro, KY which is a member of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association. The company employs 70 people across their two locations with annual revenues exceeding $25 million.

The criteria for the SC Launch Company of the Year Award were based on the global impact of the product or service, the impact to South Carolina, the relentless focus on excellence in execution and a deep understanding of capturing the relevant value chain. This is the first year the award has been given to recognize an outstanding SC Launch company.

“We’re honored and delighted to be the first recipient of the SC Launch Company of the Year Award. Everyone at Terressentia has worked hard to realize our dreams, and this acknowledgement from an organization that supported us from the early stages means so much to us,” said Earl Hewlette, CEO of Terressentia Corporation.

“Terressentia’ s commitment to quality and dedication to excellence is evident in their successes,” said Bob Quinn, SCRA Executive Director, “We are honored to recognize them as the gold standard for entrepreneurial companies in South Carolina.”
