TIME Bicycles Relocation to S.C.

South Carolina Research Authority collaborated with the Clemson University Composites CenterOne Spartanburg, and the South Carolina Department of Commerce to bring TIME Bicycles to Landrum, South Carolina. TIME was founded in 1987, and its products became popular in the early 1990s with endorsements from Tour de France winners Pedro Delgado, Greg LeMond, and Miguel Indurain.

TIME pushes the boundaries of technology, design, and innovation and is driven by the desire to build the best bikes in the world. Their guiding principle is “Le Defi /The Challenge” and this inspires them never to rest, never take the easy option, and to lead the way. The company prides itself on making the most durable bikes and accessories using its unique combination of braided carbon structure, which provides continuous, unbroken fibers that run the entire structure length, and resin transfer molding, which minimizes defects in the composite structure.

“TIME Bicycles is a world-renowned brand with a deep Tour de France heritage that raises the profile of the developing cycling industry in South Carolina. The innovative company continually develops and implements advanced manufacturing processes to raise the bar and is a great fit with South Carolina’s textile heritage and bright advanced manufacturing future. SCRA is thankful to have partnered with the South Carolina Department of Commerce, One Spartanburg, the Clemson Composites Center, and many community leaders and suppliers to successfully recruit TIME Bicycles,” said SCRA Director of Industry Solutions, Cole Dudley.

“We’re proud to have been part of the recruitment that resulted in TIME opening operations in this state. South Carolina continues to be a great place for technology-based companies to do business and employ people,” said SCRA Executive Director Bob Quinn.
