South Carolina Research Authority collaborated with the Clemson University Composites Center, One Spartanburg, and the South Carolina Department of Commerce to bring TIME Bicycles to Landrum, South Carolina. TIME was founded in 1987, and its products became popular in the early 1990s with endorsements from Tour de France winners Pedro Delgado, Greg LeMond, and Miguel Indurain.

The company prides itself on making the most durable bikes and accessories using its unique combination of braided carbon structure, which provides continuous, unbroken fibers that run the entire structure length, and resin transfer molding, which minimizes defects in the composite structure.
