Summerville, S.C. – SC Launch, Inc. announces the appointment of Dr. Patrick Springhart and Mr. Stephen Wiggins to the SC Launch Board of Directors. The addition of Springhart and Wiggins expands the board to nine members. The SC Launch Board of Directors approves loans and investments made to SC Launch companies. Board members represent South Carolina’s research universities and industry, and have significant experience with entrepreneurial endeavors.
Dr. Springhart is the Vice President for Institutional Innovation at Greenville Health System (GHS). Prior to this role he was the Chief of Urology at GHS and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of South Carolina at Greenville School of Medicine.
Mr. Wiggins is retired after 37 years with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, which included serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Wiggins currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for IT-oLogy, a nonprofit working to grow the number of IT professionals in the State.

The SC Launch program is SCRA’s entrepreneurial platform that provides mentoring, grants and investments to qualified, South Carolina companies in the Advanced Materials/Manufacturing, Information Technology and Life Sciences industries.
