SCRA Announces New SC Launch Client Companies

Summerville, S.C. – SCRA announced the recent acceptance of five Client Companies into its entrepreneurial program, SC Launch. Client Companies receive mentoring and support services and may also be eligible for grants, matching funds and investments.

Coastal Companies

ArchCath is developing a medical device for use in heart valve replacement, bypass and stenting procedures. The device will help prevent the occurrence of strokes in heart and vascular surgery patients. In addition, the company plans to create an institute for the acceleration of medical devices in the heart and vascular space.

Midlands Company

5th Dimension has developed a patent pending, next generation mobile technology that allows businesses to send digital content and engagement opportunities to consumers’ mobile devices as a text message. The technology will help their companies drive revenue and better serve their customers.

Proof Biotechnology is commercializing a new product, the Proof BioStrip, which is a low cost, disposable, easy-to-read color change sensor used to determine if foods are safe to eat. The sensor is affixed to food packaging and alerts consumers when the product is unsafe. The product is based on research from the University of South Carolina.

Whale Mail Services creates a seamless email marketing solution for businesses to manage transactional emails. The company developed a platform that uses templates, versions controls and integration techniques to allow businesses to quickly update emails, saving them time.

 

Upstate Company

Palmetto Propulsion is researching and developing new technologies that will provide more efficient, lower cost, and safer propulsion systems for recreational, commercial and military markets. The new marine propulsion systems are aimed at replacing the bladed propellers that are widely used today.
