Summerville, S.C.—South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) announces Okra Medical as a new Client Company and Foresight Data Systems as being approved for grant funding.
Okra Medical has been accepted as a Client Company into the SC Launch Program. The Johns Island-based company provides a safe, easy-to-use, and cost-effective solution to destroy highly addictive substances, such as opioids.
Foresight Data Systems, an existing Client Company, has been approved to receive a $50,000 Acceleration Grant. The Columbia-based company is developing a new, layman’s technique for computer programming. Current programming requires professional developers to code and write logic. Foresight’s platform allows the average person to develop software without coding experience. The purpose of Accelerations Grants is to position a company toward commercialization and a possible investment from SC Launch, Inc., SCRA’s investment affiliate.
Through the SC Launch Program, SCRA provides mentorship and funding to early-stage, technology-driven startups and entrepreneurs.
