Hummic Medical and other Volunteers Provide Essential PPE to Upstate Dentists in Need

| News

The day dawned wet and dreary, but the enthusiasm of volunteers carried the day. When all was done, over 350 dentists came to receive critical PPE at a drive-through distribution at Fluor Field in dental drive thruGreenville. The presentation of a dentist’s license gained each pre-registered dentist admission to receive packages of protective masks, face shields and essential items to serve their patients.

Volunteers and support came from large hospital systems and employees of insurance companies working on their own time. Support was provided by organizations like SCBIO, SCMEP, the SC Hospital Association and SC Department of Commerce. A team from SC Launch Client Company, Humimic Medical, which recently announced plans to deliver 80,000+ face shields over the next few weeks to meet critical needs, was in place start to finish. And the SC Dental Association and Furman University provided essential aid, while the Greenville Drive staff were amazing and hospitable hosts.

In the end, it was a tremendous team effort from a committed (and tired) team of masked, gloved, rain-soaked volunteers committed to providing badly needed PPE packages to over 350 Upstate dental offices. Now chew on that!
