Patti Leahy is a strategic business advisor helping firms create long-term stakeholder value. She brings over 25 years of global experience in areas including shareholder engagement, investment banking, corporate communications, strategic planning, innovation, transformation and performance management.
Previously, she was vice president at Benefitfocus, a NASDAQ-listed SaaS technology provider where she was responsible for Investor Relations and ESG as well as launching the company’s startup accelerator. Prior to this she spent over 20 years as an executive at various domestic and international companies within the technology, media and telecommunications sectors. Ms. Leahy also has investment banking and M&A experience from UBS in London and Frankfurt.
Ms. Leahy’s corporate experience includes leading investor relations at four publicly traded firms (ranging in revenue size from $250M to $6B) including the UK’s largest media company which was recognized as the best performing NASDAQ stock in the year following its operational turnaround. Ms. Leahy has also led a $160 million business unit through successful reorganization.
In addition to her role as Director for SC Launch, where she serves on the Audit and Finance Committee, Ms. Leahy is a board member at Enterprise Investors, one of the oldest and largest private equity firms in Central and Eastern Europe specializing in mid-market buyout transactions and expansion financing to high-growth enterprises. Ms. Leahy also serves on the board at Build Carolina, an organization focused on advancing South Carolina’s technology community and tech talent ecosystem.
Ms. Leahy earned an MBA in Finance and German from Thunderbird, the Global School of Management at ASU and a BA in Political Science/International Relations from Oklahoma State University. Ms. Leahy’s global perspective and German language skills were developed through experience working and studying across six countries and three continents. She has resided in Charleston, SC since 2010 with her husband and two sons.
