Summerville, S.C. – Recleim, LLC was recognized as the SC Launch Company of the Year for 2018. The award was presented by Jill Sorensen, Director of Entrepreneurial Programs, SC Launch, during the Second Annual SC Launch Summit hosted by SCRA in Columbia, SC, where more than 175 entrepreneurs, industry representatives, government officials, investors and others involved in the innovation ecosystem gathered.

Recleim is an innovative, next-generation appliance recycling company specializing in closed-loop resource recovery using proprietary technology that is unmatched in the marketplace.  The company’s proprietary recycling processes allow Recleim to recover approximately 95% (by weight) of the commodity components in the appliances it recycles, while safely disposing of hazardous chemicals and minimizing waste and environmental impact. Recleim has experienced extraordinary growth, earning a ranking of 456 (and #1 among environmental services companies) in the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing companies in the country. In 2013, Recleim invested in their first de-manufacturing facility located in Graniteville, SC, which employs over 120 people. In addition, they now operate two other de-manufacturing facilities and 9 logistics hubs across the eastern half of the United States.

“We founded Recleim to help revitalize Graniteville, SC, while preserving the environment,” said Steve Bush, Recleim CEO. “Though we’ve grown rapidly, our number one priority remains empowering businesses and organizations to become leaders of social and environmental change while still meeting their bottom lines. We want businesses to be able to do good, and do well.”

The criteria for the SC Launch Company of the Year Award were based on the global impact of the product or service, the impact to South Carolina, the relentless focus on excellence in execution and a deep understanding of capturing the relevant value chain. This is the second year the award has been given to recognize an outstanding SC Launch company. Last year, Terressentia was awarded the inaugural company of the year distinction.

“We are honored to recognize Recleim as the gold standard for entrepreneurial companies in South Carolina.” said Bob Quinn, SCRA Executive Director, “The company is committed to making an impact at the local and global levels, which is inspirational.”
