SC Launch Inc. Board of Directors

Dr. Springhart is the Chief Value Officer at Prisma Health. Prior to this role, he served as the Vice President of Institutional Innovation as well as the Chief of Urology. He currently holds a teaching position as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of South Carolina at Greenville School of Medicine. Dr. Springhart has a deep commitment to improving health care at the community level. To that end, he established advanced practice provider fellowship programs in various medical specialties that train non-physician practitioners alongside physician mentors to ensure community residents have better access to health care. During his training, he received the John D. Silbar award for outstanding clinical acumen, moral standards, and bedside manner. In 2014, the American Urologic Association selected him to participate in an academic exchange program in Brazil. This unique opportunity helped provide a different perspective on how to approach health care challenges in the United States.

Dr. Springhart holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Dayton and a doctor of medicine degree from Wright State University School of Medicine. He completed a urologic residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago followed by a robotics and endourology fellowship at Duke University, where he helped to develop the university’s robotic surgery program. He is a Fellow in the inaugural class of the Health Innovators Fellowship at the Aspen Institute.
