Summerville, S.C.Fatsack Outdoors, a Greenville-based IT company, recently received a $200,000 SC Launch, Inc. investment. This is the first investment for the company that was accepted into SCRA’s entrepreneurial program, SC Launch, in August 2016.

The company’s mobile application provides fishing intelligence to anglers, and allows them to log, map, share and analyze their fishing adventures. The partnership was complimented with a Project Development Fund Grant from SCRA to help application development. The investment will be used to further the company’s work with the state, continue to build out the platform and to get in front of the more than 60 million anglers in the US.

“We could not be happier to welcome SC Launch as our newest shareholder. Becoming an SC Launch portfolio company was a goal we set for ourselves three years ago and it’s very rewarding to see it come to fruition,” said Nick Rubio, President, Fatsack Outdoors, Inc. “Our current position would not be possible without the help and guidance Derek Willis and the team at SCRA have provided along the way. I am very proud to have such great support from our state and honored to help advance our natural resources.”

“Fatsack is an example of a technology-based company making important contributions to the quality of life in South Carolina”, said Jill Sorensen, Director of Entrepreneurial Programs and Executive Director of SC Launch, Inc. “Our citizens have opportunities to improve how we work and live, and Fatsack Outdoors is proof positive of what a difference one entrepreneur and one company can make.”
