Summerville, S.C. – ConusCoat, LLC, Sustain Edu, Inc., and Tested HQ, LLC have been accepted as South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) Member Companies and have received grant funding. As Member Companies, they will also receive coaching, access to experts in SCRA’s Resource Partner Network, and the potential to be considered for an investment from SCRA’s affiliate, SC Launch, Inc.

ConusCoat, LLC has been accepted as an SCRA Member Company and has received a $25,000 Academic Startup Grant. Utilizing the latest in biotechnology, the Clemson University-based startup is developing environmentally friendly marine antifouling coatings for the maritime industry. The company’s offerings provide an alternative to the toxic, copper-based antifouling coatings currently in use.

Sustain Edu, Inc. has been accepted as an SCRA Member Company and has received a $25,000 Academic Startup Grant. The education technology startup is building the future for campus engagement and sustainability data management through their Sustain App™ software. The app serves as a digital gateway to education, volunteer, philanthropy, and marketplace opportunities, and increases campus sustainability reporting scores, an AASHE (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education) metric.

TestedHQ has been accepted as an SCRA Member Company and has received a $25,000 Project Development Fund Grant. The Mauldin-based startup offers services for professional testers and DIY consumers to provide market, product, and field research.

SCRA welcomes these new Member Companies!

Grant funding is made possible, in part, by Industry Partnership Fund (IPF) contributions that fuel the state’s innovation economy. Contributors receive a dollar-for-dollar South Carolina income tax credit, making it a no-cost way to help one of the fastest growing segments of the South Carolina economy. Member Company grants create a direct, positive economic effect and job creation.
