SCRA Announces Six New Client Companies

Summerville, S.C.—South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) announced the recent acceptance of six Client Companies into its entrepreneurial program, SC Launch. Client Companies are provided mentoring and grants and may be eligible for investments from SC Launch, Inc.
Land Intelligence, located in Columbia, provides a comprehensive source for understanding all of the risks and opportunities associated with land investments. They provide quick and concise land information that will help avoid potential pitfalls associated with land purchases.
Zark, located in Aiken, is a mobile app for gamers to challenge friends to play their favorite games online together while earning rewards. Users connect with friends by scheduling a challenge to play together. Players earn credits and bragging rights when they win challenges against their friends. Zark allows users to build up credits with wins and redeem them for rewards like electronic gift cards.
GaBBY, located in Columbia, produces the first patented double-face, double-snap barrette (also known as “GaBBY Bows”). In addition to the bows, the company offers a Mommy and Me Entrepreneurship Academy, which gives parents and their children the opportunity to work collaboratively toward entrepreneurship through microfranchising the GaBBY Bows business, natural hair products, The GaBBY Bows book, and more.
Cycle Clarity, located in Awendaw, is team of physicians, computer engineers, and biostaticians dedicated to improving the world of fertility treatment through the application of cognitive computing in healthcare. Through the use of the latest generation of machine learning, Cycle Clarity has developed a better understanding of the multi-factorial causes of infertility, allowing for a more individualized approach to infertility testing and treatment
New Forge, located in Rock Hill, is a leading manufacturing and logistics technology company that has helped companies from BMW to small manufacturers. They assist their clients in managing the whole process of integrating new technology into their manufacturing facilities.
Sonshine Development, located in Loris, has developed and patented the Solar Spot 7™, which is a thermal solar collection system that that uses the power of the sun to provide hot water for a home. The system automatically tracks the movement of the sun to assure maximum heating during the day – and it can supplement either traditional continuous electric or gas hot water heaters or the more modern “on demand” hot water generators.
