Five SC Launch Companies Named InnoVision Award Finalists

Greenville, SC - October 6, 2011 - SCRA, on behalf of its SC Launch program, today announced that five of its companies have been selected as finalists for this year's InnoVision Technology Awards. Dreamweaver International, SensorTech, Teludyne Tech Industries, Zipit Wireless and CareCam Innovations are among the thirteen finalists. The award winners will be announced at the InnoVision Technology Awards program in November.

The InnoVision Technology Awards program, founded in 1999 and presented by McNair Law Firm, P.A., recognizes and honors Upstate businesses, individuals and organizations that have demonstrated significant advancements in the areas of innovation and technological progress.

"We congratulate each of these deserving companies for this recognition," said SCRA Executive Vice President and SC Launch Executive Director Dave McNamara. "The SC Launch program was established to assist South Carolina businesses commercialize innovative technologies and develop high-paying, technical jobs within the state. These finalists demonstrate the types of technology companies that are truly impacting South Carolina's economy and improving lives."

Dreamweaver International
Dreamweaver International is an early stage development company headquartered in Greenville, SC, using disruptive fiber technology in a versatile manufacturing process to improve rechargeable battery performance. Applications include portable electronics such as cell phones and portable computing and also electric vehicles and power tools.

SensorTech
SensorTech offers a new, patent-pending contact sensing technology that can accurately measure force, pressure, torque, or impact, and has the ability to be formed into any shape and size. The new platform technology is simpler in operation and allows sensors to be more durable and be used in more applications because of its ability to be shaped.

Teludyne Tech Industries
Teludyne Tech is a technology company manufacturing vibration dampening and heat absorbing materials that are applied to weapon systems and is available for use in many commercial and industrial applications.

Zipit Wireless
Zipit is a premier provider of wireless device software and infrastructure software for connected and managed devices. Zipit is focused on delivering fully connected, wireless IP devices that use the company's unique strengths in wireless connectivity, user-friendly device software and server infrastructure to enable administration and access to Internet services.

CareCam Innovations
The CareCam is a patient issued video documentation system. This patented invention and peripherals create a specific and complete electronic point of care health record whose interoperability will save time and money. This solution ensures safety while benefitting and protecting all parties involved.
