SCRA-led Standards Consortium Welcomes CT Core Technologies, Inc.
Charleston, SC – September 22, 2011 – SCRA, a technology development leader in applied research and commercialization, announced today that CT Core Technologies, Inc. has joined its PDES, Inc. program.
SCRA has served as the PDES, Inc. host contractor since the consortium was founded in 1988 and the program is now an international, member-supported consortium that accelerates the development and implementation of standards to support model-based engineering, manufacturing and sustainment.

CT Core Technologies is the leading global provider of 3D CAD data conversion software. The development of manufacturing standards that are widely accepted, such as ISO Standards, has real-world implications for a number of industries. Manufacturing standards allow lean manufacturing practices to be utilized for higher production efficiencies and lower manufacturing costs- a goal for all manufacturing companies.
PDES, Inc. has a tradition of successfully executing applied R&D collaboration efforts. Testing of implementations and technical data exchange using the ISO 10303 Standard, commonly called STEP, is an integral part of the consortium. This consortium has improved standard development processes so it takes one to two years to create an international standard instead of the traditional five to nine years. The program also launched a project to develop a Model-Based Design standard that combines widely used design standards.
