Julia Martin - Chief Financial Officer

 

Ms. Martin is the Chief Financial Officer of SCRA.  In this role, she also serves as the Treasurer for SCRA Applied R&D and SC Launch, Inc. She provides financial leadership for these organizations, serves as liaison for financial reporting to federal agencies, external auditors and company stakeholders and provides supervision and management of the day-to-day financial operations of SCRA and its affiliated organizations. She directs banking and credit activities, ensures the development of the Annual Operating Plan, and maintains appropriate capital structure to support the plan.  Julia ensures regulatory compliance and establishes appropriate internal controls for the businesses in order to manage and reduce risk.

Prior to her position as Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Martin served as Director of Budgeting and Costing at SCRA. In this position, she was responsible for compiling the annual financial operating plan and federal rate projections as well as preparing CAS Disclosure statements and managing pricing support for proposal activities. As Director, her responsibilities also included performing financial research, analyses, and management reporting and providing audit support and conducting auditor interface. Julia monitored compliance with government regulations, including Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations, reviewed contract terms and conditions for potential financial impact and provided guidance on practical application of government regulations.

Prior to joining SCRA, Ms. Martin was with First Federal of South Carolina where she served as a branch manager. Julia earned a B.S. degree in business administration from the College of Charleston, with an additional major in accounting. She has completed graduate coursework at the College of Charleston and is a Certified Management Accountant. She is currently a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and the Financial Executives Institute. Ms. Martin is an alumnus of the Riley Institute’s Diversity Leadership Initiative, holds a Top Secret clearance and currently serves on the board of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.
