SCRA’s results-based management approach assures delivery of technology solutions to complex client challenges. PDES, Inc. - Promoting the International Implementation of STEP Product Data Standards SCRA is the Host Contractor for PDES, Inc., an international product data standards collaboration. Membership includes over 30 corporate leaders in aerospace, automotive, electronic, and other industries from six countries. STEP provides a standard to accurately and efficiently exchange product information electronically. PDES, Inc. members span the aerospace, automotive, electronics, and shipbuilding industries. They collaborate on common data exchange issues such as supply chain integration, long-term data retention, interoperability, web-based collaboration, and engineering analysis. National Warheads and Energetics Consortium SCRA manages the business operations of a national consortium executing a $700M DoD munitions technology development program. The consortium of over 120 companies and academic institutions brought enhanced warfighter lethality and survivability. NWEC is the industrial/academic component of the Department of Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium, an enterprise that serves as the focal point for ordnance system technology research and development to address the U.S. long range science and technology objectives. Improving Command and Control (C2) SCRA provides technical and strategic services to DoD’s Joint Systems Integration Command. SCRA executes interoperability-related R&D activities and provides unbiased evaluations of existing and emerging C2 capabilities. National Shipbuilding Research Program - NSRP This collaboration of major U.S. shipyards partners with the Navy client to discover and implement advanced technologies and improved processes that drive down the cost of building and repairing U.S. Navy vessels. Composites Manufacturing Technology Center - CMTC The CMTC is an Office of Naval Research (ONR) Center of Excellence promoting the application of composites technologies on Naval platforms for capability enhancement and cost reduction. CMTC's 30 industry members develop technologies with application to modern DoD aircraft, surface ships, submarines, land vehicles, and associated weapons and missiles. Copper Touch Surfaces Program SCRA manages a team of world-class team of medical researchers, air quality and environmental engineers, and practical clinicians researching the effectiveness of antimicrobial copper applications to improve health and wellness. The program was created under the auspices of the Telemedicine and Advanced Technologies Research Center (TATRC), a section of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC). Center for Naval Shipbuilding Technology - CNST CNST is the Navy’s Center of Excellence for development and deployment of shipbuilding and ship repair manufacturing technologies. SCRA manages CNST under a contract with the Office of Naval Research (ONR). CNST is the newest of nine Centers of Excellence funded by the Navy’s MANTECH program. Vanadium Technology Partnership The VANADIUM Technology Partnership fosters a cooperative relationship between the vanadium microalloyed steel industry and U.S. Army to effectively apply these high-performance steels in U.S. Army applications. Together, the team is guiding this program through stages of investigation, development and deployment, while transferring technical information to the market place. Transforming Defense Supply Chains - TDSC This program assists in the effective integration of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Supply Chains through pilot projects and deployment of proven technology. This effort assists in the transformation of MDA and other DoD weapons systems programs into lean, efficient, responsive enterprises by increasing the integration and effectiveness of the supporting supply chain network. Strike-Up/Strike-Down - Shipboard Internal Cargo Movement This Office of Naval Research program develops automated cargo/weapons handling systems to support the Navy’s shift to a seabasing approach. This will ensure that U.S. troops can react quickly to situations around the globe without depending on foreign cooperation to establish bases of operation. The Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel The Panel was established to overcome technical and policy obstacles to healthcare information technology interoperability by blending best-of-breed methods and processes to harmonize health data standards and gain broad-based acceptance and support via formal charter. The Panel is sponsored by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and others. Forging Defense Manufacturing Consortium - FDMC A DLA program whose members are improving metal forging tools, processes and purchasing in support of the US warfighter. Through partnership with the Forging Industry Association, North America’s premier forging industry trade and technical organization, FDMC delivers technology improvements across the entire US forging industry. Entrepreneurial Start-up Company Support - SC Launch An SCRA-led program that is growing and strengthening the Knowledge Economy by helping entrepreneurial start-up companies commercialize innovative products and services. SCLaunch provides early-stage companies with funding, commercialization support and access to a powerful resource network of business services and economic development organizations. Alternative and Renewable Energy Programs A hydrogen and fuel cell “market transformation” project for the US Department of Energy to install 10 back-up power fuel cells in three critical applications at Ft. Jackson, SC.
